Powell’s new IBIC (ISO BUS Implement Connector) from Powell Electronics, Inc.       

IBIC (ISO BUS Implement Connector) - is a new design of the implement connector specified in the ISO 11783-2 protocol for the electrical connection of implements to the tractor or other agricultural vehicles in order to transfer power signals and CAN Bus communication to and from the vehicle and implement. This IBIC connector is a new development for the implement manufacturers that rely on high quality and cost effective solutions. The ISO BUS Implement Connector (IBIC) combines the use of highly reliable non corrosive materials with a unique design guaranteeing a long life span in highly aggressive environments with high demand performance. The IBIC Connector is designed to mate with the Powell ISO Bus Breakaway Connector (IBBC), but is also backwards compatible with previous designs in the market. Mated with the IBBC, it will survive many disconnects, but even with previous designs, it will break-away correctly. As this may cause potential damage due to the old design, spare bayonet rings will be available. These rings are extremely easy to replace and can even be done in the field by the tractor operator. The IBIC breakaway connector is extremely easy to populate without a chance of damaging your hands and can be assembled with only standard tools. Standard-wise, this connector rates IP 67 and can be used in combination with a protective cap. The IBIC also provides improved cable strain relief.
